We live in a fast paced world where everything is available in a moment’s notice. Dreams are achieved through hard work and discipline. Living a natural life is becoming more mainstream especially when it comes to what we put in our bodies. Even though it can be pricey, non GMO and organic products and herbal remedies are readily available for those who choose. The versatility of cannabis is not just for recreation or food, but be could be used as a possible natural alternative to opiates.
First let’s talk about cannabis as food.
Hemp seeds are high in alkaline as well as great source of protein, fiber, vitamin E, omega-3 and omega-6. You can eat the seeds whole or hulled. They taste great in recipes for desserts, pesto or even sprinkled on salads or oatmeal. It is super easy to make hemp milk. Just blend water, hemp seeds and dates and BAM! The perfect protein shake – twelve tablespoons of hemp seeds will give you 40 grams of protein. Surprisingly, even juicing raw cannabis leaves may be beneficial for possible therapeutic applications. I’ll admit that the taste of juicing the cannabis leaves alone is not easy on the palate.
But it is a great addition to any green juice. Plus, I did have an all-around good feeling after I drank a glass. None of these uses require heating the actual cannabis flower. Therefore, you will not experience the psychoactive effects.
Next, is all about cannabis for recreational uses. I am sure we all have heard horror stories of the negative impacts of alcohol, cocaine, heroin and pharmaceuticals. Whether directly or through 6 degrees of separation – it affects us all. Through my years of cannabis use, I can remember only one instance where I just had too much. Over a decade ago, I baked some canna cupcakes for my birthday. I ate too many and just passed out. I don’t remember much from that birthday except that my friend’s papa san was super comfortable. This experience taught me to respect cannabis and that I should have made a batch of regular cupcakes as well.
Today, I am thankful for the acceptance of cannabis and the attention to detail that edible companies take to ensure dosage is properly indicated on packaging. We are lucky that there is an abundance of strains and methods to take cannabis.
Cannabis is an awesome choice to wind down after work. I especially enjoy a good pow wow with friends where responsible use of cannabis will guarantee good vibes all around.
Possible Benefits for Medicinal Use
Lastly, let’s take a look at cannabis and its’ possible benefits for medicinal uses. Cannabis applications for medicinal use can date back for thousands of years. The first recorded use of cannabis for possible medicinal purposes was in China around 2727 B.C. Even Queen Elizabeth I allegedly used cannabis during her menstrual cycle.
Today, cannabis could be used as a possible remedy for many ailments – chronic pain, diabetes, menstrual pain, migraines, and epilepsy just to name a few. Both THC and CBD cannabinoids could have a positive impact in these areas. Besides edibles and vaping, topical ointments are available and could be helpful for pain as well. Ingesting CDB daily might provide an overall feeling of well-being without the psychoactive effects of THC.
We are fortunate to be blessed with an all-natural plant on this earth. What other plant could be utilized in so many ways?
I didn’t even mention the benefits of the industrial uses of hemp. I’ll save that for another time.
Your life could be easily enhanced even if you only incorporate cannabis in just one of these areas. Take the time to educate yourself and use cannabis responsibly. It has only been a short time that cannabis has reentered society in a positive manner. No longer are the stigmas or old propaganda valid as new research becomes available and as long as everyday responsible citizens show that cannabis is good for mankind. Let’s make sure we are representing cannabis in a positive light. Through food, fun and possible medicinal benefits, I am certain that cannabis can fit any lifestyle. All natural or not….it’s just the beginning. The future is bright and green, so keep dreaming and achieving and live your best life!
